y would baby oil or nail varnish work???? :-( try vinegar...and be more careful with mum's new carpet.

if the vinegar don't really work then you might have to go through this long!!...process..

Remove Eyeliner, Eye Pencil, and Eyeshadow Makeup Stains From:

Acetate, Carpet/Synthetic, Carpet/Wool, Fiberglass,

Rayon, Silk Triacetate, Wool

Brush (the method of using a stiff-bristled brush to gently remove dried stains and spots) or blot up any excess, taking care not to spread the stain. Flush (the method of applying stain remover to loosen staining materials and residue from stain removers) with a dry-cleaning solvent such as Afta Cleaning Fluid. Apply a dry spotter to the stain and cover with an absorbent pad dampened with the dry spotter. Check the stain every 5 minutes. Before changing pads, press hard against the stain. Continue the alternate soaking and pressing until no more stain is being removed. Flush with one of the dry-cleaning solvents and allow to dry. If any stain remains, flush it with water and apply a wet spotter with a few drops of ammonia. (Do not use ammonia on silk or wool.) Cover with an absorbent pad dampened with the wet spotter. Let it stand as long as any stain is being removed. Change the pad as it picks up the stain. Keep the stain and pad moist. Flush well with water. Repeat if necessary; allow to dry.How to get black eyeshadow off of a cream carpet?

Okay first.... put the baby oil and nail polish remover DOWN. You are embedding the color into the carpet, and especially with the rubbing...oy! At this point, I don't know that anything can be done to undo the mess.

Next time when you have dry makeup that has fallen on the carpet, first vacuum up the loose bits. Then get a a damp alcohol sponge, and BLOT the spot. This will draw the makeup up toward the sponge. If you have baby wipes on hand, this works also.
visit the following url
Clean and Clear Facial Cleansing Wipes get all make up from clothes, carpets, curtains, towels!!!
Go to a supermarket and look on the shelf for all the VANISH products and you will find one there for stains and it says make up on the packet ,so just follow the instructions and it comes off easy.
is it a powder or a cream: they will need to be treated differently but as you have added both nail polish remover and baby oil, it may be a bit of a mess right now.

I would have suggested a carpet cleaner like vanish or oxy but it may ruin the carpet if you have put other chemicals on it so look and read the labels properly, see if its ok to use with oil and acetone (nail polish remover)

You may also want to use a stain remover, dirt devils do not do anything, but there is one which is usually sold right next to dirt devil stain removers, cannot for the life of me remember the name but the bottle basicly is in the shape of a toilet duck, it has a crooked head and flat body and I think its either yellow or white. It works though, really well.

Until then keep some work or school stuff on the floor, hide the stain until you have the stain remover, say the stuff needs to be on the floor as you are drawing it for an art project or something.
Try water and tell your mom! she'll probably have carpet cleaner.
