It depends what type you are looking for. If you just want a sheer wash of colour then you can mix a little eyeshadow with a little petroleum jelly like vasoline. It can look delicate and pretty but doesn't really have much staying power. Cosmetic cream shadows have much more ingredients that help keep your eyeshadow at it's best for longer so to be honest it's far easier to buy one. You can however mix eyeshadow in with cosmetic cream shadow to change the colour or pat another colour on top of your cream shadow for different effects.
